The Impact of a Community-led Preventative Approach to Tackling Violence Event
New Era Croydon were invited to parliament to showcase and celebrate the impact of a Community-led Preventative Approach to Tackling Violence.
Helen Hayes MP and Miatta Fahnbulleh MP, who are strong advocates of the Mayor Of London’s Violence Reduction Unit (VRU), facilitated the discussion.
Along with other MyEnds partners we collectively showcased how our award-winning community-led approach is having an impact and how it can work to support the Government’s ambitions of halving knife offences.
London has taken a community-led, hyper-local approach to violence reduction, featuring a strong focus on youth work, as well as interventions to keep young people in school and diversionary activities to support them after school, at weekends and during the holidays.
At New Era Croydon we are proud to be part of this growing movement working with our partners to make our streets safer for children and young people across London
